How 24 Colorado Newspapers Are Staying Locally Owned

Our state is home to a new experiment in sustainable journalism – and keeping local news ownership local. In early May, the National Trust for Local News announced it was acquiring Colorado Community Media, a network of 24 newspapers in the Denver Metro area, via a new public benefit corporation called the Colorado News Conservancy, in partnership with The Colorado Sun.

What does this mean? How will this change the news ecosystem in Colorado? What consequences could it have for local media nationally?

On June 3 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., join in for a free opportunity to hear from leading people behind this deal about how it works and what they hope it will produce. This event is hosted by the Media Enterprise Design Lab at the University of Colorado Boulder.
